Don “Campbellock” Campbell is known and remembered as The Creator of The Campbellock(Locking,) the first street dance that inspired all the following street dance sub-genres we know today.
Donald Campbell’s creation is now considered an art form with a distinct language. With this fabulous song, Don gives you the command and describes what you must do to do The Campbellock.
“A Gentleman by the name of Sonny Craver approached Donald Campbell about making a record about his dance The Campbellock, that was becoming wildly popular due to its exposure in the night clubs and on #SoulTrain. Sonny felt my father’s dance could make an impact culturally like “The Twist.” So in February of 1972, “The Campbellock” by Don “Soul Train” Campbell was born, along with the B Side song “Stuffing The Bird.
